Facade designs for every taste
Silicone resin plasters are tinted with inorganic pigments that are permanently incorporated into the silicone resin network. This makes the plasters particularly light-fast and color-fast. Nowadays, manufacturers offer an extremely wide range of natural and pigmented color shades that provide unlimited scope for personal taste. All plaster textures routinely available in the organic and mineral plaster sector are also available as silicone resin plasters. They can be formulated in eight different textures, with particle sizes ranging from 1.0 to 6.0 mm. Depending on the composition of the plaster and how it is applied, different surface effects can be obtained, so that the appearance of the plaster may range from fine and smooth to coarse or rustic, whichever is desired.
Faster, easier processing
Silicone resin plasters are suitable for use on both new and old building fabric, i.e. as an initial plaster coating or as a repair coating. They are supplied in ready-to-use form, are easy to apply and are highly suitable for use with processing machinery (no blockages).
What is more, they dry without leaving stains or creating stresses. Silicone resin plasters adhere extremely well to all mineral and inelastic organic substrates (e.g. old paint coatings), providing these are even, clean, dry, and free from adhesion-reducing residue, efflorescence and release agents.
Silicone resin emulsion plasters are easier to apply if the surface of the substrate is primed. The plaster's water content is not absorbed as rapidly into the substrate, the pot life is extended and a more consistent appearance is obtained. A pigmented primer, in addition, protects recesses in corrugated and rubbed plasters, and prevents the substrate - which often differs in color - from showing through. Specially formulated plasters are available for use in cold, wet weather. The physical properties of silicone resin plasters also make them ideal for use with exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS).
